Spring Style Inspiration

Spring is finally here but lately my style feels frozen. Luckily my friend Julia Mehrmann, owner of Mehrmann Style Co. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire is always a step ahead and happy to help. She gave me the inspiration I needed to heat things up during the transition into warmer weather and I want to share it with you. Check out her solid advice and these easy looks!

“If you find yourself craving color after a long winter of neutrals but feel it’s a bit too early to bust out your bright, summery hues, try adding some pastel hues to your wardrobe. Pastel tones will make your favorite black leather jacket feel more spring-like, and will work well later in the season mixed with bold neon tones (one of my personal favorite spring trends).  Remember that the most important part of any outfit is the confidence you wear it with.”

Outfit #1 To make a summery jumpsuit wearable earlier in the season, add some edge with a black leather jacket and boots. The vertical pattern and high waistline are a great way to lengthen your frame and slim your silhouette, and the color palette is a nice way to balance those dark leather accessories.

Outfit #2  A cropped tank and your favorite ripped jeans make for an effortlessly cool daytime outfit. Boyfriend jeans are another big trend this season and work really well within this look. If it’s a bit chilly, top with an oversized cardigan, ballerina bun and a warm scarf. Later on, roll up the cuffs of your jeans and pair them with light, neutral flats and your favorite cat-eye sunglasses. Adding feminine details are a lovely compliment to torn-up boyfriend jeans.
