RapidBrow and RapidLash devotees know that a fuller and longer brow is a youthful look, but things can go horribly wrong if you choose the wrong color to fill in sparse spots. Using the wrong tone on your brows can make you look ill-advised! We don’t want anyone to look uninformed, so we got Bella Brides Makeup to give us some tips to avoid these all too common color pitfalls!

Blondes: “Warm tones and lighter colors on the brow can appear orange on the skin. With this in mind blondes shouldn’t necessarily use a blonde color brow product. Cooler tones, light browns and taupes works best for the golden haired group to fill in sparse areas. Always be sure to brush through the brow to even out the product after use.”

Natural Reds: For redheads getting the brow color right is trickier because reddish brown powder appears orangey on the skin. “If you have reddish brows that are lighter than your hair color, go in with a cool brown to deepen up the brow. Someone who has strawberry blonde or a true carrot top should choose a light to medium cool brown. Try to offset the red you have naturally.”

Processed Red: “If you are dying your hair red and you’re a brunette, your natural brows will be darker. You can ask your hairdresser to color your brows but that can be risky because of the longevity. If you are nervous about having your stylist color your brows, use a reddish brown pencil or powder.”

Brunettes: All dark hair types should avoid the use a black pencil on the brows. The look is overwhelmingly harsh and reminiscent of Halloween witch makeup. “A brown pencil will provide the definition you desire with a more natural look.”

Gray: “There are so many different tones of gray, including white and charcoal, but the key is to keep it cool. A taupe pencil is a safe bet. For people that have gray hair and gray brows, stay away from gray pencil and try an ashy brown hue instead. You want to get as close to the color of the hair as possible, but as a basic rule, go with a medium cool light brown pencil on a gray haired lady.”
